Speculative Subjectivities is a series of poetic and performative texts written during encounters with geologies, organisms and environments. This collection of writing forms part of a larger body of work that attends to the perceived ‘silence’ or gap in forms of language and representation that occur within human-non-human encounters. The writing focuses on the affects and flows that occur within these relations and aims to diffract, not represent or reflect, through a performative poetics that locates the act of writing and reading as material, agential and present.
The first in this series of writings with-out-sound was written during encounters with three minerals: Almandine, Galena, and Chalcopyrite. The text was published by SomethingOther as part of their Chapters series, On Silences & Noise.
