White Wall is a live performance and a single channel video. In this work a performer wearing a red sequin dress and high heels attempts to connect physically with a white wall. She tries a variety of approaches: playing sensual music, dancing, touching, kissing, and petting, but the wall remains unresponsive. She finally resorts to whipping the wall, marking the white surface with black stripes.
Developed as part of Referral a solo exhibition commissioned by DAM projects at A_SPACE (London). Presented at Off Course Brussels Art Fair, shortlisted for Academy Now. The film has been screened as part of Restock, Reflect, Rethink: Live Art and Feminism at the Live Art development Agency (London), Venice International Performance Art Week, European Cultural Centre (Venice) and ArtVerona Art Project Fair (Verona).
