Syndrome is a performative installation and film that fabricates a quasi-scientific institution in the basement of SITE a contemporary arts centre and former headquarters of Ericsson communications company. The basement, previously a place of recreation and fitness for office workers in the building, comprises of a gymnasium with changing rooms, shower and sauna. The installation occupied the shower area with an array of objects, tools and implements that moved of their own accord. The film captures performative fragments of the installation where a figure dressed in a white lab coat carries out a series of tests and activities in the space.
Developed as part of a residency and exhibition at SITE Sweden in Stockholm.
